I have some of my best work in the portfolio of a company that leases artwork to companies and a few months back, one of their art consultants contacted me to see if I had similar abstract work to an image I had taken with a macro lens of a Swamp Milkweed seed pod. This had been quite a complex image to take, requiring multiple shots at different focal points in the seedpod to get everything in focus.

I did have a few more of the same subject, but I also suggested other images from my own portfolio that had an abstract feel to them.
I was over the moon to learn earlier this week, that a high-end financial office in Texas had, in fact, bought eight of my framed prints, some as large as 48 x 36 inches and with a mix of metal, canvas and paper prints in these frames. I hope to see a photo of the installation soon.
Here are the other images that they purchased:

This next set were taken at the Valley Falls State Park when the Tygart River was heavily flooded. I used a telephoto lens to focus in on the details of the surging water and also a special filter that let me change the colors of the reflection areas of the river. I did this to give more of an autumnal feel to the scene.

And, finally, a couple of images taken from a cruise boat on the Nile River in Egypt.

It is always very satisfying to imagine my work gracing the walls of an office or a home. I think I will have to focus more on abstract artistic images going forward!

9 Oct 2025Wow, congrats on the big sale! Eight prints – some massive 48×36 inches! Hope the high-end Texas office has enough wall space, and maybe a ceiling. Love the variety though – from seeds flying away to Withstanding the flow on the Tygart River. Its fascinating how you used a filter for an autumnal feel on a West Virginia river, probably looks like its trying to escape Halloween early! Those Nile River reflections sound serene, a perfect counterpoint. Your excitement about the abstract images is totally understandable – sometimes the detailed stuff is just too much effort, right? Keep sharing those stunning captures!
